When our website traffic suddenly spiked by over 100%, we knew we must have gone viral.

As a marketer I would say that going organically viral is like a rare gift—it propels the brand forward (and fast). A viral moment has the power to quickly squash buying friction for those discovering the brand for the first time as people want real, authentic recommendations—a big thank-you to Brie Larson for putting Chantelle on everyone’s radar!

But we quickly learned that in these moments, reacting fast is critical. Time is of the essence and you must nurture the moment while it is hot. Since the original tweet didn't specify which bra was on screen, a wave of speculation immediately broke out. Tons of PR outlets were writing articles guessing which bra it was, and traffic was pouring onto our website without a clear destination. We needed to set the narrative straight and let everyone know about our C Jolie T-shirt bra. So, we hit pause on every other project and activated what became our official Viral Response Plan. Our entire team shifted into hyper-drive; we refreshed our website in real time to scream C Jolie T-shirt bra site-wide, we scrambled to pull in extra stock to handle a surge in demand (we obviously hadn't forecasted) and I spent an entire weekend responding to hundreds of comments and DMs across TikTok and Instagram to confirm the C Jolie T-shirt bra and keep the momentum alive. I have to be honest. I was not surprised this bra went viral. I was a little surprised it took this long.

As a bra fitter for over 10 years, I have been working with clients to help achieve the perfect bra wardrobe and a T-shirt bra is always in the mix. But the key is having a T-shirt bra that works with your wardrobe. Since we launched the C Jolie Comfort Convertible T-Shirt Bra 5 years ago it has been one of my go-tos because it works literal magic for so many different clients.

A couple of things I always tell clients: give yourself a little extra strap length before you clip it, since crossing the straps into a racerback takes some of that length up. And as a nice side effect, wearing it racerback naturally pulls the tissue slightly toward the center, so you get a touch of natural cleavage along with the coverage.Once your straps are set up right, the last thing you want is for the bra itself to give you away.
