Before & After: the Magique Minimizer
Updated March 17th, 2026
Getting started with buying a bra can feel overwhelming. So many choices so it’s only natural to default to how you purchased in the past. We have all been there, but hope to inspire a better way. More thoughtful, more simplified. And ultimately, HERE it can make your morning routine easier and more enjoyable.
What is the first thing you should do when shopping for a bra (1)?
Get a fitting (1)!
With so many women unsure of their size, getting fit by an expert is your best first step. We fluctuate more than we realize, so if it’s been a while since your last fitting expect a change. Not only can a fit expert put you in the right size, they can help recommend a bra wardrobe that works for you. There is a lot out there, and not every style or shape is right for everybody.(1)
Questions to ask yourself if you are unsure if your bra fits:
Does the top of the bra cut in? Does the U/W dig in at the side? Are you “spilling out”?
You likely need to go up in the cup.
Are the straps digging into your shoulders? Is the band riding up? Are the straps falling off your shoulders?
You likely need to go down in the band and up in the cup.
Is the band uncomfortably tight, but the cup looks right?
You likely need to go up in the band and down in the cup
Does the cup wrinkle and gap, but the band feels right?
You likely need to go down in the cup.

How should a bra fit?
In a bra fitting, we check:
THE STRAP Should sit straight and flat. There should be some tension with the ability to run a finger under comfortably.
THE CUP - Should lay flat against the body. There should be no gapping or digging at the top. The center gore should be flush with the breast bone.
THE BAND - Should lay straight and low across the back. Should fit snug, with the ability to fit a finger underneath. The band is too big if it is riding up in the back.
THE UNDERWIRE - Should envelope and not rest on breast tissue.
